  • Condition: A fine antique working sword carried by a Turkish Ottoman Warrior. The blade is well maintained with no rust or damage. The wood scabbard is leather covered with metal mounts. There are areas where leather is missing as shown. The blade has a panel with inscriptions on both sides one is clear oand one is worn, as shown. The oil is possibly horn and shows reasonable wear from use

    Description

    An original, early 19th C Ottoman Turkish Yataghan. A well crafted working sword with the traditional, some what recurved blade and hit with flared ears.
    The blade is in very good condition with no rust or damage. The hilt shows reasonable wear from use as does the scabbard. The scabbard is wood covered with leather. There are areas of leather missing, as shown. The scabbard has metal mounts with some modest engraving at the throat.
    The blade has two engraved panels with inscriptions. On is worn and the other in good condition The ricasso area has an engraved, applied covering.
