    DESCRIPTION
The items are a knife and a sheath. The sheath and top of the knife are carved with joined daimond shapes with wide twisted, mesh-design wires in what appears to be copper. The sheath has an askewed rounded knob at the end. The knife is shapes as a spear with a center raised forged mark and appears to be double-sided and also has some rust marks. This item is considered a short stabbing spear. The knife is forged steel. This is a superb Dagger.
    DATE
    c. Circa 1930's - 1950's.
    NOTES
Zulu knives were around 8 to 12 inches long and the design of the Zulu knife and sheath changed between circa 1820 and 1920. The Rangi tribe of Central Tanzania which consists of several related tribes including the Chagga or Chaga people made weapons EXACTLY like this one with copper wire. They also included a rounded end on the sheath which was used as a club and made the wood out of ebony which is the wood on your objects. This is a superb example.
