So excited to offer some MORE antique Kewpie dolls! I am selling items for a friend and was thrilled to find TWO compo kewpies in her big doll stash.
THIS Is similar to one I JUST sold, the last of my own...it's an Original Antique Rose O'neill Kewpie circa 1913. From a BIG doll collection I am slowly downsizing for a friend who inherited her mother in law's very big collection so DO check back daily! Among her items-- Vogue doll clothes, antique German dolls, all bisque dolls and I have a WOOD SCHOENHUT DOLL in that stash coming soon! THIS is a nice 12" early example with original crisp clear paper label on foot with original skin tone and blue wings. This kewpie has joined feet on a compo base painted blue, with movable arms, nice and tight originally strung. See photos. Some paint loss as you can see that is flaking (IF you are buying this for yourself, I recommend using a clear MATTE acrylic based varnish and a very soft brush to apply, and keep paint from further flaking. It will be invisible and will save the color over the years. SOME people leave as is preferring not to do anything to an antique SO I leave that option up to the buyer. Very nice overall displays wonderfully! Eye side glancing, paint is in very good condition there, no issues.
Round out your collection of Kewpies, and add this one with original paper label circa pre WW1.
