Rare Signed Pablito and Lilon Photo and related photo Lot
Photos come from a smoke free home.
These appear to be mostly from Havana, Cuba and surrounding area and feature the famous Rumba dancing couple Pablito y Lilon.
These appear to be from a family photo album of someone related to the dancers. I have no idea on the provenance of any of this, the signature appears authentic, definitely not a print. It is possible that some of these photos are of Lilon as a child, teen, young woman. All bear a resemblance to her, could be her sister also. Several of the pictures could be promo cards or possibly were developed with the writing on them. These photos have been sadly and unscrupulously torn from a photo album. The paper is stuck to the back of all of them. I have made no effort to remove it because I did not want to damage the photos. They are in the exact condition that I received them. From the exposed backs that I can see many of them have detailed descriptions and dates. For reference the largest photos are 6 1/2 x 4 1/2“.
These photos come from a smoke free home. They show creasing, toning, chipping, rips, stains, spots, etc.… If you would like more pictures of a particular photo or have questions about a particular photo we will do our best. This is an extremely rare lot, and if it is photos of the family, or photos of the famed dancer then it is even more rare than that. By virtue of the legible dates, it appears these photographs are from the 1920s to the 1950s. Again we make no claims at all about these pictures, but by all identifiable markers they are authentic and historically amazing.
