    Description

    I open the box to ensure unit is correct and damage free.
    Hoffman Concept wall enclosure.
    Includes Cooper Crouse Hinds CCB series solar combiner solution.
    Unit includes everything you see in the picture: Box, back plate, DIN rail, fuse blocks, positive buss, buss cover, negative buss, ground lugs.
    You will need to provide the fuses. (sized based on your needs)
    This is where you land the wires from your solar panels.  This unit provides a place for a fuse for each circuit while combining them (in parallel) to increase the circuit current.
    Option 1: wire your solar panel to the fuse on string 1, take the PV positive and wire to the fuse.  Take the PV negative and wire to the negative buss.  Now wire the positive and negative buss' (giant lugs) as PV output to the input of your charge controller.
    If you only have 1 solar panel then you don't need a combiner.  If you have more then this is how they are properly combined.
    So in option 1 you have 1 solar panel that is putting out something like: 40vdc and 9 amps.
    You could add 11 more strings to make this 40vdc and 108 amps.
    For inverter efficiency I use a 48vdc system where I place 4 batteries in series.  To charge these you must have a higher voltage than the 48v.  A charge controller would require around 80 vdc to function properly.  I use 3 panels to form an array in the field creating 120vdc at 9 amps.  Then I wire this array (2 wires) to the combiner unit for sale here.  I have 120vdc 9 amp circuits.  I combine four of them to make 120vdc 36amp.  This feeds my charge controller and it converts this to about 55vcd to charge the batteries.  This can generate about 75 amps dc.  I have two of these chargers and 8 total arrays so I can generate around 150 amps dc in full sun.
    I have two charge controllers, two combiners, 24 solar panels.  All I have to do to add more is land another string in my combiner.
    I have included a picture of a similar unit that is wired to make it clear how to use this unit.
    This panel allows an extremely flexible array of options by providing 12 strings.
