Description
This lot consists of two pairs of boots from late World War II or Korean War era. 1) This pair has no date. They appear to be New, Old Stock. They have original laces. The toe on the left is dimpled as if something was stored on top of it. They have an Endicott Johnson reinforced toe. Markings include FN in a rectangle 16980 5 1/2 D On the sole in a circle it says, EJ and HTS. 808 appears on the heel. These boots are impossible to find in this condition. 2) This pair is M43 Boots. They are called a double buckle. They have the rare toe cap. They are also hob-nailed which is even more rare. The leather is finished. It is obviously well-worn, but there is no major damage except to the bottom of the heel. (See pics) The tongues are not ripped. The buckles are intact. The laces, I replaced, are not correct. There is a good pic of these boos on a man with Patton's 3rd army on pg. 29 of Christopher J. Anderson's book about Patton's 3rd Army. See pics as they are part of the description.
